Mahamaya Temple

Mahamaya Mandir is situated at Devipur 4 km away from Surajpur. Mahamaya Temple is one of the most famous and oldest temples in district. People come from different places visit Mahamaya Mandir to worship and now it has become a major tourist attraction place in chhattisgarh. The local people have a great faith on Mahamaya Devi and during Navratri this place become a major attraction and Navratri Mela is being organised by the people.

Kumeli Waterfall

It is a beautiful waterfall. This waterfall is created by various water sources from deep green forest of Ketka range. A very nice place to visit that is naturally beautiful.

Rakasganda Waterfall

It is a beautiful waterfall on Rihand River. It is 104 Km from Surajpur city. It is almost at the Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh border. It attracts tourists from all three states and is a very beautiful place to visit. Water of Rihand river falls from a staggering 50 feet of height resulting in a fuming aura.

Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary

This sanctuary is most picturesque sanctuary of Chhatisgarh. Elephants and Tigers are worth watching along with beautiful birds in the area. It is also an Elephant reserve. A huge Bamboo forest is also there. This Sanctuary is spread over an area of 608 Sq Km. The forest consists of a mix of Sal and other deciduous trees. The important species are Terminalia arjuna, Terminalia alata, Shorea robusta, Terminalia chebula, Anogeissus latifolia, Diospyros melonoxylon etc and the animals are Tiger, Leopards, Nilgai, Chital, Sambar, Sloth Bear, Chinkara, Wildboar, Jungle cat, Fox and a variety of reptiles and birds.
