Tourist Destination in Rajnandgaon

Originally known as Nandgram ruled by Somvanshi rulers, Kalchuris and Marathas. The palaces in the town of Rajnandgaon reveal their own tale of the rulers their society, culture and the traditions of those times. The first ruler Ghasidas Mahant was recognised as a feudal chief by the British government in 1865 was granted a Sanad of adoption. Later the British conferred the title of Raja on the ruling Mahant.
Conveyance: Rajnandgaon is well connected with roads and rail but air plane service is available from Raipur.


Mata Shitla Devi Shakti Peeth

This Shakti Peeth is dedicated to Mahakali, Mahalaxmi, Maha Saraswati and Mahasingvahini. This temple is said to be 2200 years old and is situated near city railway station.

Kharkhara Dam

Kharkhara Dam is 99 Km away from the Rajnandgaon. It will take 2 hour and 30 minutes by road, nice place to visit and enjoy the whole day trip with the family or groups. Many visitors come across the region to spend some quality time and feel peace within the nature.

Mangata Wildlife Park

Mangata environmental park in Kangta has 250 chickens, 150 wild boars, peacocks, hyena, rabbit, wild cat and other small wild animals. There is a lot of cheetah here, which is why it remains a tourist attraction for tourists. Apart from this, two-km long Nature Tracking Path has been built for the students of the school and college.

Bambleshwari Temple

The Bambleshwari Temple is situated on the 1600 feet high hilltop in Dongargarh city in Rajnandgaon district. It has a great spiritual importance and several legends are associated with this shrine too. It is a prominent pilgrim destination, featuring majestic mountains and ponds, Dongargarh is derived from the words Dongarh means 'mountains' and garh means 'fort'. The rope way is an attraction and is the only passenger rope way in Chhattisgarh state.
